about
The end of the world. An abstract dream in sepia noir where rain falls over a futuristic city as a black hole descends to envelop the Earth. The title and lyrics of this track link various ‘circular’ concepts together: A halo lost, the sphere of the Earth, water droplets from the clouds and a descending black hole from space. The concepts of a halo lost in the clouds, the wings of angels breaking and falling to the ground and to a salvation that will never come, are all references to the fall of humanity, as our impending doom approaches with nothing left to save us.
lyrics
Yearn for the sky
Awakened in the night
Planetary cries and heavy air
Shroud across our eyes
Drain another life
Soothe these fractured avenues
Sullen city view
Melancholic hue
Painting pictures of the world atop a cloud
Make it rain sepia noir and watch the abstract drown
Drown
Where are you now with your halo lost in the clouds
Where are you now final salvation unrevealed
I can see the wings of angels breaking as they fall to Earth
Descend into the world
Bleed the colour from my eyes
Distorted visions of disappearing atmosphere
Spinning on and on in darkest downpour
Taint the world in tones of sombre
Sombre
Shades of morbid netherworld embraced with thunder
Eternal hell enter our realm
Black hole with no return
And at the end of all foretold and ever known
No sun no moon no trace of us or home
Where are you now with your halo lost in the clouds
Where are you now final salvation unrevealed
I can see the wings of angels breaking as they fall to Earth
Descend into the world

“… And Everything In Between” was a great introduction to the band, and after having listened to it 2975295 times in a relatively short while I could appreciate “Artificial Void” (which is perhaps a bit more intricate?) better. Alice M.

Cool compositions and great production – Who Bit the Moon is full of prog-rock moments that uplift and quickly capture attention. Neat changes in tempo add interest, and plentiful guitar hooks deliver moments to savour. Michael Reilly
