about
New life. Using various oceanic metaphors to explain the unknown of becoming a new father. For example, the lyric ‘surging’ refers to the currents of the sea, but it’s also the term used for contractions in hypnobirthing; and the lyric ‘and when the day breaks we surface’ is a reference to our own birth. The inhalation and exhalation of water is like we are washing away all burdens from our lives. No matter the weight that you may feel on your shoulders, the realisation that new life and your desire to reach new horizons together can save you from drowning.
lyrics
Breach the tide and pull through
Surging she carries always you and when the day breaks in wake we surface
Waves crestfallen
I inhale the wash to cleanse my struggle internal expelled in a single breath
Farewell to all that I exhale from under the burden blue
Flow into unknown as far as I can tell it’s intuition that’ll serve me well
As far as I can tell it’s you that keeps me from drowning
When the weight of the world is on your shoulders
Rise from the depths of the ocean
You will find your direction
You will find your direction
In darkest depths of cyan
On set meridian no horizon will come
We are one with the vastness until we are gone
Pull beneath the blanket of deep that drags us under yet we never sink
‘Cause I know that you are evermore here with me
Sea of solitude reflect as we imbue
The ebb and saline swept moving you
Breach the tide and pull through
Surging she carries always you and when the day breaks in wake we surface
And when the day breaks we surface
And when the day breaks we surface
When the weight of the world is on your shoulders
Rise from the depths of the ocean
You will find your direction
Farewell to all that I exhale from under the burden blue
Great unknown
I'll be waiting for you
Great unknown
I'll be waiting
I’ll be waiting for you

“… And Everything In Between” was a great introduction to the band, and after having listened to it 2975295 times in a relatively short while I could appreciate “Artificial Void” (which is perhaps a bit more intricate?) better. Alice M.

Cool compositions and great production – Who Bit the Moon is full of prog-rock moments that uplift and quickly capture attention. Neat changes in tempo add interest, and plentiful guitar hooks deliver moments to savour. Michael Reilly
